| Spanish abstract | El presente trabajo expone la tesis de que en Cocorí se da la ambivalencia propia de los textos que poseen la categoría de novela, de acuerdo con la teoría. Se discute que no hay en esta obra presencia de racismo, según los elementos básicos aceptados universalmente como signos de racismo. Al contrario, los negros y su cultura son enaltecidos en la obra en los campos espiritual, artístico, moral, humano e intelectual. En este trabajo se afirma que Cocorí es una obra inserta en la historia, en la realidad, y éstas son necesariamente ambivalentes, como toda gran novela |
| English abstract | The present work exposes the thesis that Cocorí posses the own ambivalence of the texts that have the novel category, in agreement with the theory. It is discussed that there is no presence of racism is this tale, in accordance to the basic elements universally accepted as signs of racism. On the contrary , black people and their culture are ennobled in the spiritual, artistic, moral, humane, and intellectual ways. In this work it’ s af firmed that Cocorí is a work inserted in the history, in the reality, and these are necessarily ambivalent, like every great novel |
