| Spanish abstract | Se parte de dos actos de hablar realizados en situaciones comunicativas complementarias (modalidad oral/escrita): a) el recuerdo lejano de la conducta idiomática no-cortés de personas (figuras, prototipos) que violaban el código social de conducta (impuesto pero no-aceptado); b) muestras procedentes de la lectura de obras narrativas de autores actuales, americanos y españoles. Actitudes y comportamientos sociolingüísticos a cuyo análisis e interpretación se vienen aplicando diversas variantes de la teoría de la cortesía verbal. Son actos des-corteses o anti-corteses que violan las pautas de conducta normativamente aceptadas. Actos monologales propios del registro conversacional, cuyas manifestaciones lingüísticas no siempre se interpretan con acierto. El autor, violando lo comúnmente aceptado en la teoría de la cortesía, los denomina actos de cortesía negativa. Concluye que toda norma está formulada sobre la posibilidad de ser violada: la violacíon confirma y garantiza su valía, función y utilidad (la excepción confirma la regla) |
| English abstract | The starting point of this study consists of two speech acts performed in complementary communicative situations (oral/ written mode): a) the distant recall of non-polite linguistic behaviour of persons (characters: prototypical figu- res) who violate the social code of behaviour (imposed but not accepted); b) samples taken from narrative works of contemporary Latin-American and Spanish authors. These sociolinguistic attitudes and this verbal behaviour are analysed and interpreted by applying variants of the theory of politeness. They are impolite or anti-polite acts that vio- late the normatively acceptable behaviour: monologic acts belonging to the conversational register, whose linguistic manifestations are not always interpreted appropriately. The author, himself violating what is usually accepted in the theory of politeness, terms them “acts of negative politeness”. He concludes that any norm is formulated with the pos- sibility of its being violated: the violation confirms and guarantees the validity, function and usefulness of the norm (rules are made to be broken) |
