| Spanish abstract | Desde el presupuesto de la paz como orientación en la resolución creativa y no violenta de los conflictos, y con base en una definición compleja que supera con mucho la de simple negación de la guerra, se plantea cómo recurrir a fuentes de sabiduría ancestral (ubuntu y satyagraha) –diferentes de o más amplias que la retórica occidental de los derechos humanos pero congruentes con la misma– puede constituir un elemento fundamental en la construcción de culturas de paz |
| English abstract | This article stems from an assumption that peace is a guiding principle for the creative and nonviolent resolution of conflicts, and from a complex definition of peace that extends well beyond the simple negation of war. It outlines the ways in which the recourse to sources of ancestral wisdom (ubuntu and satyagraha), which are different or more comprehensive than – and yet congruent with – western rhetoric about human rights, can constitute a fundamental element in the construction of cultures of peace |
