| Spanish abstract | Se discute que la mercantilización del patrimonio cultural en el Centro Histórico de Zacatecas (CHZ) impulsó, por un lado, un aumento en los precios del suelo del patrimonio edificado y, por el otro, la atracción de turistas que modificaron su economía hacia el entretenimiento y el turismo. El argumento teórico recupera la discusión sobre la gentrificación turística pero se separa de la turistificación como fenómeno asociado a la vivienda. El uso de la metodología de trayectorias ubicó comportamiento, ritmo y consecuencias del proceso a lo largo del tiempo (1990-2020) y permitió concluir que el CHZ vivió una exitosa gentrificación en la apropiación del espacio público por el entretenimiento y el turismo, que aprovechó la valoración cultural, pero falló en el desplazamiento de población de bajos ingresos a la periferia, debido a su precarización, los altos precios del suelo y al poco interés de la población de ingreso alto por vivir ahí |
| English abstract | It is argued that the commercialization of cultural heritage in the Historic Center of Zacatecas (CHZ) pushed one hand, an increase in land prices in the built heritage and on the other, attracting tourists who changed their economy towards entertainment and tourism. The theoretical argument recovers the discussion on tourist gentrification, but it is separated from touristification as a phenomenon associated with housing. The use of the trajectories methodology located behavior, rhythm and consequences of the process over time (1990-2020) and allowed to conclude that the CHZ experienced a successful gentrification in the appropriation of public space for entertainment and tourism that took advantage of the valuation cultural; but it failed in the displacement of the low-income population to the periphery, due to its precariousness, high land prices and the little interest of the high-income population to live in it |
