| Spanish abstract | En este trabajo se presenta una visión teórica sobre las representaciones sociales, su vinculación con la definición de valores y cómo se relacionan ambos conceptos en el ámbito educativo. Esto con el fin de entender las vías a través de las cuales los educadores organizan sus construcciones mentales. En la Constitución de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela (2000) y la Ley Orgánica de Educación (1980) se establece que el fin último de la educación es la formación integral, lo que se logra, entre otras cosas, con la enseñanza de los valores. Este objetivo se puede concretar en la praxis, sólo si existe una consolidación de los valores dentro de la estructura cognitiva de los educadores, como consecuencia del proceso de objetivación y de la puesta en práctica de los valores en el quehacer educativo |
| English abstract | In this paper it is presented a theoretical vision on the social representations, their link with the values defi nition and how both concepts relate in the educational environment. The purpose of this is to understand the paths through which the teachers organize their mental constructions. It is established in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (2000) and the Organic Law of Education (1980) that the ultimate goal of education is the comprehensive training, which is accomplished, among other things, through the teaching of values. This objective can be fulfi lled in practice, only if there is a consolidation of values within the cognitive structure of educators, as a consequence of the objectifying process and the putting into practice of the values in the educational task |
