| Spanish abstract | El cultivo de ajo en Aguascalientes y Zacatecas resulta de gran importancia en el entorno socioeconómico por la superficie plantada y por la mano de obra que genera a lo largo de su desarrollo y, posteriormente, durante su periodo de almacenamiento. Sin embargo, su potencial de rendimiento se ve afectado por diversas enfermedades para las que el Instituto Nacional de Investigadores Forestales, Agrícolas y Pecuarias (INIFAP) a través de sus campos experimentales de Pabellón y Zacatecas ha generado o validado información tendiente al manejo de estos problemas patológicos. En este reporte se describen los avances logrados en cada una de las principales enfermedades pero también se hace un recuento de los rezagos existentes en algunas áreas específicas de investigación |
| English abstract | The garlic crop in Aguascalientes and Zacatecas is of great socioeconomic importance because of the planted area and of the labor hand needed through the crop growth and the storage period. However, its yield potential is affected by distinct diseases. The INIFAP through the Experiment Stations of Pabellon and Zacatecas, has generated or validated information that tends to manage this pathological problems. In this report, the achieved advances in each of the main diseases are described but also a recount is made of the delays in several specific research areas |
