| Spanish abstract | Depués de mostrar que la teoría del valor no puede ser confundida con una simple teoría de los precios relativos, este trabajo presenta una reinterpretación del abordaje smithiano. El intento es encontrar, no las supuestas contradicciones de Smith, pero sí su coherencia interna. De esa manera se buscó mostrar que las críticas que tuvieron origen en Ricardo y en el propio Marx no son satisfactorias en su casi totalidad, aunque se admite la existencia de una dificultad teórica: la indeterminación de la tasa de ganancia. Smith readquiere, así, mayor relevancia dentro del pensamiento económico |
| English abstract | After demonstrating that the Theory of Value should not be mistaken for a simple theory of relative prices, this paper presents a re-interpretation of the Smithian approach. The aim is not to look for the supposed contradictions in Smith, but rather the approach's internal coherence. Hence the paper seeks to demonstrate that criticism which began with Ricardo and even Marx himself, is not entirely satisfactory, even though the author would concede the existence of a theoretical difficulty: the indetermination of the rate of profit. Thus Smith once again acquires greater relevance in economic thinking |
