| Spanish abstract | El artículo presenta las políticas de información de las bibliotecas del H. Congreso de la Unión de México. Realiza un diagnóstico sobre sus áreas, servicios, colecciones y personal por medio de entrevistas a los responsables de las bibliotecas en su lugar de trabajo. Interroga si en cada una de las áreas, servicios, manejo de las colecciones y selección del personal se tiene una política de información que les indique como se llevan a cabo las actividades. El instrumento es un cuestionario que se elaboró con base en las Directrices para bibliotecas parlamentarias creadas por la IFLA. Es una investigación documental y de campo. La muestra que se estudió son las tres bibliotecas que pertenecen al sistema. Compara lo que dice la IFLA sobre las directrices que deben tener este tipo de bibliotecas, con las políticas que se encontraron en la investigación documental y de campo. Los resultados obtenidos demuestran que sí cuentan con políticas de información explícitas en los niveles macro, mezzo y micro. Concluye que es necesario que los responsables de las bibliotecas elaboren, implementen, evalúen y mejoren políticas de información que les ayuden a alcanzar sus objetivos y metas |
| English abstract | The article presents information policies of the libraries of the Honorable Congress of the Mexican Union. It makes a diagnosis about its areas like services, collections, and human resources through interviews with those responsible for the libraries at their workplace. It asks whether in each of the areas: services, collection management and human resources selection if they have an information policy that indicates them how they should be carried out these activities. The instrument is a questionnaire elaborated based on IFLA's Parliamentary Library Guidelines. It is a documental and field research. The sample studied are the three libraries that belong to the system. It compares what IFLA says about the guidelines the type of libraries ought to have, with the policies that were found in the documental and field research. The results obtained demonstrate that they do count with the explicit information policies at the macro, mezzo and micro levels. It is concluded that it is necessary that the responsible of the libraries elaborate, implement, evaluate, and improve information policies that help them to reach their objectives and goals |
