| Spanish abstract | Se describe el origen y desarrollo del proyecto de restauración de las pinturas sobre tabla pertenecientes al retablo mayor del templo de Coixtlahuaca, Oaxaca. Ejecutada por el Seminario-Taller de Restauración de Pintura de Caballete (STRPC), de la Escuela Nacional de Conservación, Restauración y Museografía (ENCRyM) del Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH). Esta iniciativa se ha enfocado en el estudio y el tratamiento de once obras pictóricas sobre tabla procedentes del siglo XVI, atribuidas al conocido pintor sevillano Andrés de Concha. El artículo expone los objetivos y avances del proyecto, el cual se ha caracterizado por una perspectiva integral que, dentro un marco de enseñanza-aprendizaje, incorpora tanto la investigación humanística y científica como la intervención de conservación y restauración. Se informan los resultados logrados por docentes y alumnos de la ENCRyM, así como por un grupo de especialistas de varias disciplinas, adscritos tanto al INAH como a otras instituciones mexicanas de educación superior. Se muestran los beneficios de la colaboración interinstitucional e interdisciplinaria, factores que en este proyecto han sido imprescindibles para lograr el rescate, la preservación y la revitalización de uno de los conjuntos pictóricos de mayor excepcionalidad estética, histórica y tecnológica de México |
| English abstract | This article describes the genesis and development of the restauration project for panel paintings belonging to the principal altar piece of the temple of Coixtlahuaca, Oaxaca. Fulfilled by the Seminar-Workshop of Conservation of Easel Paintings (STRPC) of Escuela Nacional de Conservación, Restauración y Museografía (ENCRyM), Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH), this initiative has been focused on the study and treatment of 11 works of art from the Sixteenth Century, attributed to the renowned Sevillian painter Andres de Concha. The text reports mainly the purposes and activities of the project, which has been characterized by an integral approach, aiming to incorporate humanistic and scientific studies with conservation and restoration interventions within a teach-learn environment. It also informs about the results accomplished by the ENCRyM teachers and students together with a group of specialists of varied disciplines from INAH, and other Mexican academic institutions. It shows the benefits derived from inter-institutional and inter-disciplinary work as an essential factor for the project that attained the rescue, preservation and revitalization of one of the most exceptional mexican groups of paintings concerning historical, aesthetical and technological values |
