| Spanish abstract | En este artículo indago en la relación entre cuerpo, alma, danza, performance, ritual y texto poético desde una perspectiva literaria en dos fenómenos distintos: el semā’ de los derviches sufíes mevlevíes y el yúmari–tutuguri de los rarámuri. Para ello, me apoyo en los conceptos de Julia Kristeva de lo Semiótico y lo Simbólico, los cuales se refieren, respectivamente, al proceso en el que no existe aún la escisión del sujeto ni del signo, y al proceso en el que el individuo se inserta en el lenguaje y la sociedad. Según mi hipótesis, la experiencia de la performance ritual de sufíes y tarahumaras, anhela un retorno a ese sitio anterior al signo (lo Semiótico), a la vez que dicha experiencia debe traducirse a un lenguaje socialmente codificado, como la danza y la poesía (lo Simbólico). En ambas performances, el mecanismo de retorno y diálogo entre un proceso y otro es el carácter circular de cada danza, las cuales simbolizan, según su respectivo marco socio–cultural y religioso, el renacimiento del hombre y la relaboración del pacto entre él y las deidades para que continúe el funcionamiento del cosmos |
| English abstract | | In this article I explore the semā’ of the Mevlevi sufi dervishes and the yúmari– tutuguri of the Rarámuri according to the relations between the body, the soul, dance, ritual performance and poetic text from a literary perspective. In order to do so, I rely on Julia Kristeva’s concepts of the Semiotic and the Symbolic. The former refers to the signifying process in which no division of the sign and the subject has taken place yet, while the latter implies a process in which the subject already inserts him/herself in language and in society. According to my hypothesis, the ritual performance of both Sufis and Rarámuri, aims to return to the Semiotic, while at the same time, such experience is translated into a socially coded language, such as poetry and dance, in the Symbolic. In both performances, the dialogue between these processes derives in the circular nature of each dance, which symbolizes, according to their socio–cultural and religious nature, the rebirth of man and the reenactment of the deal between man and deity that puts the universe in motion |
