| English abstract | This article has for objective systemize an experience of popular extension that has been developed for ten years in the Federal University of Paraíba, the Project Popular Education and Attention to the Health of Family (PEPASF), on the Maria of Nazaré Community, in João Pessoa (PB). For in such a way, we will historically contextualize, then will describe the current conjuncture and will present the theoretical and methodological bases that supports the Project. Then, we will be able to reflect on the ways trod by the Project and the perspectives that this experience has accumulated in the field of health, through changes in the profile of the professional formation and in the relation of the university with the population, propitiated for a proposal of democratic extension, centered in the integrality and radically articulated to the development of pedagogical actions of promotion of the health, ahead of the reality of the excluded sectors of the society |
| Portuguese abstract | Este artigo tem por objetivo sistematizar uma experiência de extensão popular desenvolvida há dez anos na Universidade Federal da Paraíba: o Projeto Educação Popular e Atenção à Saúde da Família (PEPASF), que atua na Comunidade Maria de Nazaré, em João Pessoa (PB). Para tanto, contextualizaremos historicamente, descreveremos a atual conjuntura e apresentaremos as bases teóricas e metodológicas nas quais se sustenta o Projeto. Poderemos então refletir sobre os caminhos trilhados pelo Projeto e as perspectivas que essa experiência tem acumulado no campo da saúde, através de mudanças no perfil da formação profissional e na relação da universidade com a população, propiciada por uma proposta de extensão democrática, pautada na integralidade e radicalmente articulada no desenvolvimento de ações pedagogicas de promoção da saúde, diante da realidade dos setores mais excluídos da sociedade |
