English abstract | Since COVID-19 arrived in Latin America in 2020, rumors and fake news began to spread indiscriminately, creating fear and uncertainty among citizens. The objective of the study is to analyze the empirical evidence of fake news on COVID-19 in Latin America, between 2020 and 2022. A systematic review was conducted using the PRISMA method and twelve research studies published in the EBSCO and ProQuest scientific databases were collected. The research revealed that fake news regarding COVID-19 stands out in the negative impact on collective health, the propagation of disinformation through emotions and its relationship with social and political instability during the pandemic. |
