| English abstract | University cultural heritage becomes an emerging and necessary field in heritage studies at an international and national level. Therefore, the preservation and dissemination of the historical and cultural memory treasured by Cuban universities constitutes an imperative for higher education and current Cuban society. From this perspective, the objective is to carry out a theoretical review of the main concepts related to cultural heritage and university cultural heritage. The main trends and concepts on the research object are addressed and a theoretical review of its evolution and development is presented. The dialectical-materialist method served as a starting point for the use of other theoretical methods such as historical-logical and documentary analysis. The participant observation allowed to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the actions developed. The systematization to discover and organize the internal logic of the process and the survey to determine the level of knowledge about the theoretical references that regulate the process, the organizational forms and the indicators to be used to evaluate its management. The management of the university extension was analyzed, as well as its link with the university cultural heritage. The main result is a systematization and a conceptual review of the University Cultural Heritage, which allowed determining the background and trends followed in its evolution and development. The study of the cultural heritage of the University of Pinar del Río is contextualized, based on its main characteristics and the current challenges for its management are taken into account. |
| Spanish abstract | El patrimonio cultural universitario deviene en un campo emergente y necesario en los estudios del patrimonio a nivel internacional y nacional. Por ello, la preservación y difusión de la memoria histórica y cultural que atesoran las universidades cubanas constituye un imperativo para la educación superior y la sociedad cubana actual. Desde esta mirada el objetivo trazado es realizar una revisión teórica de los principales conceptos referidos al patrimonio cultural y el patrimonio cultural universitario. Se abordan las principales tendencias y conceptos sobre el objeto de investigación y se presenta una revisión teórica sobre su evolución y desarrollo. El método dialectico-materialista sirvió como punto de partida para el empleo de otros métodos teóricos como el histórico-lógico y el análisis documental. La observación participante permitió valorar la eficiencia y efectividad de las acciones desarrolladas. La sistematización para descubrir y organizar la lógica interna del proceso y la encuesta para determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre los referentes teóricos que norman el proceso, las formas organizativas y los indicadores a utilizar para evaluar su gestión. Se analizó la gestión de la extensión universitaria, así como su vínculo con el patrimonio cultural universitario. Como principal resultado se presenta una sistematización y una revisión conceptual sobre el Patrimonio Cultural Universitario, que permitió determinar antecedentes y tendencias seguidas en su evolución y desarrollo. Se contextualiza al estudio del patrimonio cultural de la Universidad de Pinar del Río, a partir de sus principales características y se tienen en cuenta los retos actuales para su gestión.Abstract: University cultural heritage becomes an emerging and necessary field in heritage studies at an international and national level.
