| Spanish abstract | En este texto se presentan algunas definiciones para entender el concepto de modernidad, así como varios de los riesgos inherentes a ella. Con el desarrollo y evolución de las sociedades han surgido nuevos retos a los cuales ha sido difícil encontrar solución, por ejemplo, el deterioro ambiental. | English abstract | In this paper some definitions to understand the concept of modernity are shown, as well as several of the risks inherent to it. With the development and evolution of societies new challenges have emerged whose solutions have been difficult to find, for example, the environmental degradation.
