| Spanish abstract | El artículo tiene dos propósitos: por un lado, mostrar de qué modo, entre 1929 y 1954, los estudiantes bogotanos rememoraron el 8 de junio, día en que de acuerdo a ciertas lecturas históricas y políticas, fue asesinado el universitario Gonzalo Bravo Pérez; por otro lado, identifi car las disputas que se dieron entre distintos sectores sociales y políticos de la ciudad al pretender imponer signifi cados a lo sucedido aquel día de 1929. Lo anterior permite observar cómo la reivindicación del 8 de junio, fecha que se convirtió en un lugar de memoria no sólo para la comunidad estudiantil, estuvo marcada por los hechos políticos del período de análisis, los cuales le imprimieron nuevos signifi cados. A partir de este estudio de caso, se pone en evidencia cómo la memoria histórica se construye y se preserva en medio de tensiones sociales y políticas al ser convertida en objeto de permanentes disputas |
| English abstract | This article aims two ideas: On one hand showing how in the period comprehended between 1929 and 1954 Bogota’s students recalled the 8th of June, when according to some historical and political proposals was murdered university’s student Gonzalo Bravo Pérez. On the other hand, identifying the struggles among different capital’s social and political groups as trying to impose a signifi cation on what happened that day of 1929. This allows noticing how the recognition of the 8th of June took a place for memory to the Bogota’s society, who gave it a new signifi cation. From this case study, it demonstrates how historical memory is built and kept in the midst of social and political struggles to be converted into the subject of constant disputes |
