| Spanish abstract | El presente artículo retoma la historia de la emblemática organización popular “Constancio C. Vigil” de Rosario, describiendo sus humildes inicios en los años cincuenta, el potente desarrollo institucional durante la efervescente década de los sesenta y posterior destrucción patrimonial desde la intervención dictatorial en los turbulentos setenta en Argentina1. Desde este escenario mayor, se focaliza el devenir del servicio bibliotecario identificando las herencias del asociacionismo fomentista y examinando las tensiones y rupturas emergentes de la vertiginosa diversificación de proyectos, espacios, acervos y lectorado en un inédito alcance territorial. Al calor de las vivencias de sus actores y más aún desde los registros documentales salvados de la biblioclastía, se visibiliza un caso pleno de singularidades al tiempo que representativo de un periodo que ciertamente requiere mayor atención historiográfica |
| English abstract | The present article takes up the history of the emblematic and popular organization “Constancio C. Vigil” of Rosario, describing its humble beginnings in the 50s, the powerful development during the effervescent decade of the 60’s and later patrimonial destruction since the dictatorial intervention in the turbulent ‘70 in Argentina. From this greater scenario, the growth of the library service is analyzed, identifying the legacy of associationist practices and examining the tensions and ruptures emerging from the vertiginous diversification of projects, spaces, collections and readership in an unprecedented territorial scope. In the experiences of its actors and even more from the documentary records saved from the fire of censorship, a singular case becomes visible while representing a period that certainly requires more historiographical attention |
