| Spanish abstract | La religión es una categoría del pensar y del actuar humano, y como tal no debe ser justificada: ella existe, así como existen economía, arte, política, etc. La dificultad pero consiste en encontrar una definición general de este concepto, por las variedades de sus manifestaciones históricas. Una tentativa de síntesis consiste en evidenciar su carácter de sistema, finalizado a dar orden (un orden que deriva de un principio superior) a la realidad, para que sea accesible al ser humano. Por medio del rito, en cuanto acción, del mito en cuanto narración. En un mundo religioso domina el principio de una participación total de lo humano a una realidad superior o metafísica (Tradición), en un mundo desacralizado se afirma el solo orden físico (Modernidad). Sin embargo las dos formas se realizan de forma parcial en el plan de la historia o de las culturas, con el predominio de la una o de la otra, y si hoy se afirma el orden físico, sería una reacción de vana nostalgia evocar una realidad que no nos pertenece; pero sería una actitud epistemológicamente y éticamente correcta entender la especificidad y la singularidad de nuestra elección cultural |
| English abstract | Religion is a category of human thinking and acting, therefore we must not justify it: religion exists, as exist art, economy, politics, etc. On the contrary, we consider a hard work to offer a general definition of this concept, considering the variety of its historical expressions. Trying to give one, we define it like a system to organize the reality (organization that comes from a superior rule), so that it be accessible to human being. Through the rite (action), through the myth (narration). In a religious world rules the principle of the total human participation in a superior or metaphysical reality (Tradition), in a desacralized world exists only the physical order (Modernity). However, we find a partial realization of the two expressions in human history or cultures, with the predominance of the former or of the letter. Since actually prevails a physical order, would be an expression of mere nostalgia to call up a reality which does not belongs to us; but it would be an attitude epistemologically and ethically correct to realize specificity and singularity of our cultural election |
