| English abstract | This article approaches the notion of testimony tracing a parallel between artistic action and oral history research. It is based on the analysis of visual artist Rosângela Rennó’s work, Imemorial (1994), and in interviews with the artist in order to identify the characteristics of the contemporary notion of testimony. It articulates the methodology of oral history, especially the analysis of trajectories in the art world and the discussion about sources of memory, to the problematization of putting into evidence, through the artistic action, the historical evidence. | Portuguese abstract | O artigo propõe abordar a noção de testemunho traçando um paralelo entre a ação artística e a prática historiadora em história oral. Apoia-se na análise do trabalho da artista visual Rosângela Rennó, Imemorial (1994), e em entrevistas com a artista, para identificar características da noção contemporânea de testemunho. Articula-se a metodologia de história oral, com destaque para análise de trajetórias nos mundos da arte e a discussão sobre fontes de memória, à problematização sobre colocar em evidência através da ação artística, a evidência histórica, e seus desdobramentos para a noção de testemunho. Valoriza-se a noção de atitude historiadora para reconhecer na artista uma historiadora visual |
