| English abstract | The purpose of this article is to investigate the creation and instalation of federal universities campi in the last ten years in Brazil, specially, to investigate the intent of social inclusion that these universities have in their official documents of creation. Therefore, the choosen object is the campus in Realeza of the Federal University of Southern Frontier (UFFS), state of Paraná. The article explains the creation of this university, the influence of the social movements on the process, and the goals that were stablished to increase the number of local students in the new brazilian university. The data for this article were collected from a series of interviews with a group that participated of the process that led to the creation of UFFS, professors, students and members of social moviment |
| Portuguese abstract | O presente artigo pretende realizar uma breve análise da criação de universidades públicas federais nos últimos dez anos, em especial, a proposta de inclusão social que as acompanha. Para tanto, o objeto de análise é o campus da Universidade Federal Fronteira Sul (UFFS) localizado no município de Realeza, no estado do Paraná. Neste, temos uma breve explicação do contexto de criação da universidade, a influência dos movimentos sociais no processo e as suas metas de inclusão social.
