| English abstract | This paper deals with the difference between the political project developed by the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB) during the period when it was in the direction of the Railroad Workers Union of the Leopoldina Railway (1953-54, 1957-64), and the perception of this project by a union-based worker. For this purpose, two primary sources are used: the first is the news coverage by the newspaper Folha Capixaba, which belonged to the PCB; the second is an interview, which resorted to the method of life history, with José Schiavo, a railway worker. The thesis is that the material and/or symbolic support of an individual to a project prepared by the leadership of a social movement depends on the correspondence between the values, notions and conceptions of one and the other |
| Portuguese abstract | Este trabalho lida com a diferença entre o projeto político elaborado pelo Partido Comunista do Brasil (PCB), durante o período em que se encontrou na direção do Sindicato dos Ferroviários da Estrada de Ferro Leopoldina (1953-1954/1957-1964), e a percepção desse projeto por parte de um trabalhador da base sindical. Para tanto, são utilizadas duas fontes primárias: a primeira é a cobertura jornalística feita pelo periódico Folha Capixaba, que pertencia ao PCB; a segunda é uma entrevista, que recorreu ao método da história de vida, com José Schiavo, trabalhador da linha férrea. A tese defendida é a de que o apoio, material e/ou simbólico, de um indivíduo a um projeto elaborado pela direção de um movimento social depende da correspondência entre os valores, noções e concepções de um e de outro |
