| English abstract | Slogans created by authoritarian regimes and reverberated by its defenders were used to avoid the possibility of speaking of the atrocities committed and identifying its perpetrators, meanings and consequences. Labeled as subversive and unpatriotic, annihilated in their physical and mental integrity, opponents were removed in existence and in words. In the struggle for validation of multiple memories against stereotypes created, and mainly to talk about the trauma suffered, oral history becomes a path for denouncement, accountability and redress. Thus, this article aims to reflect on how the researcher should behave while listening to traumatic stories. What are the ethical limits of an interview with victims of violence? How can oral history overcome the boundaries of the university and contribute to break the social indifference in face of pain? |
| Portuguese abstract | Palavras de ordem criadas por regimes autoritários e reverberadas por seus defensores foram usadas para evitar a possibilidade de se falar das barbaridades praticadas, de identificar seus autores, significados e consequências. Marcados como subversivos e antipatriotas, aniquilados em sua integridade física e mental, os opositores foram suprimidos em existência e em palavras. Na luta pela validação de memórias múltiplas contra os estereótipos criados e, principalmente, para falar dos traumas sofridos, a história oral constitui-se em caminho para a denúncia, para a responsabilização e para a reparação. Diante disso, este artigo pretende refletir sobre como o pesquisador deve se portar durante a escuta de histórias traumáticas. Quais são os limites éticos de uma entrevista com vítimas de violência? Como o trabalho de história oral pode ultrapassar a fronteira da universidade e contribuir para romper a indiferença social diante da dor? |
