| Spanish abstract | Este artículo busca contribuir a la discusión sobre el fenómeno del bandolerismo rural desde una perspectiva regional. Explora las zonas del Bajo Cauca, Magdalena Medio y Nordeste antioqueños en Colombia entre 1953 y 1958. En dichos años, el bandolero aparece en el escenario regional tras la descomposición de las guerrillas liberales de la primera fase de La Violencia (1949-1953). Así, adquiere características que difieren del modelo planteado por Eric Hobsbawm, quien propone el concepto bandolerismo social para el análisis de este fenómeno. El artículo evidencia que el análisis contextual permite observar las particularidades del fenómeno y comprender mejor su naturaleza, ya que éstos poseen diversos perfiles que escapan a las explicaciones de tipo general |
| English abstract | This article attempts to contribute to the discussion about the rural banditry from the regional analysis perspective. It explores the areas of Bajo Cauca, Norwest and Magdalena Medio in Antioquia (Colombia) between 1953 and 1958. In those years the bandit appears in the regional context after the breakdown of the liberal guerrillas of the first phase of La Violencia (1949-1953). Thus, it acquires characteristics that differ from the concept of social banditry proposed by Eric Hobsbawm. This paper shows that the contextual analysis allows us to observe the peculiarities and the nature of the phenomenon. It has different profiles that are beyond general explanations |
