| Spanish abstract | Este artículo pretende moverse sobre dos grandes polos del siglo XVI: la teología espiritual a la batuta de España y la incursión de la imprenta y su contribución a la ciencia teológica de la época. En la primera parte del artículo se analizan las circunstancias que repercutieron en el desarrollo de la teología posterior al encuentro de los dos mundos. El énfasis es en la teología espiritual que será ama y señora de estos años y que encontrará en España su ambiente más propicio, pues incluso los Reyes Católicos se consideran enviados del Espíritu Santo, no solo para recomponer a España, sino para salvar la Iglesia que estaba perdiendo fuerza y credibilidad. La segunda parte describe cómo la naciente imprenta logra catapultar la teología y las ideas espirituales a través de tres grandes trabajos: la difusión de los padres de la Iglesia, la Biblia y el Breviario. La hermenéutica histórico-crítica en la que se basa este estudio recurrió al análisis de fuentes que brindaron información acerca de la espiritualidad del siglo XVI, centrada en España, y la incidencia de la imprenta en los trabajos teológicos. Se concluye, entonces, que la espiritualidad de este tiempo, influenciada por el humanismo que invitaba a volver a las fuentes, tuvo que recurrir a los santos padres; antes, sus manuscritos pertenecían solo a personajes o comunidades religiosas, pero con la impresión -aunque costosa-, se propagaron con mayor amplitud, enriqueciendo la vida de oración, lo que se atestigua en la enorme difusión del Breviario. |
| English abstract | This article tries to move on two great poles of the 16th century: spiritual theology at the helm of Spain and the incursion of the printing press and its contribution to the theological science of the time. The first part of the article analyzes the circumstances that influenced the development of Theology after the meeting of the two worlds. The emphasis is on Spiritual Theology that will be mistress and mistress of these years and that has Spain its most propitious environment, since even Catholic kings consider themselves sent by the Holy Spirit, not only to rebuild Spain, but to save the Church that was losing strength and credibility. The second part describes how the nascent printing press manages to catapult Theology and spiritual ideas through three great works: the dissemination of the Church Fathers, the Bible and the Breviary. The critical historical hermeneutics on which this study is based, resorted to the analysis of sources that provided information about the spirituality of the 16th century, centered in Spain, and the influence of the printing press on theological works. It is concluded then, that the spirituality of this time, influenced by the humanism that invited to return to the sources, has to resort to the Holy Fathers who before -their manuscripts- belonged only to religious characters or communities; but with printing -although expensive- they spread more widely, enriching the life of prayer attested in the enormous diffusion of the Breviary. |
