| Spanish abstract | A dengue é hoje uma das doenças com maior incidência no Brasil, com especial frequência no município de Fênix–Paraná. No presente estudo pretendeu-se analisar as concepções que as crianças têm sobre a dengue, identificando os componentes do modelo KVP, bem como conhecer as representações sociais deste grupo. Para o efeito optou-se pela utilização de charges com alunos do 5o ano do ensino fundamental de uma escola localizada no município de Fênix, cujos textos foram analisados para identificação de categorias e dos componentes do modelo KVP (conhecimentos, valores e práticas) a elas associadas. Foram identificadas quatro categorias de respostas sobre a interpretação da charge relativa à dengue: (i) prevenção da dengue, (ii) perigoso que pode levar à morte, (iii) problema de saúde pública e (iv) combater a dengue. Verificou-se que a “prevenção da dengue” foi a categoria em que se identificaram os três domínios K, V e P implicados na construção das concepções, enquanto as duas categorias “perigoso que pode levar à morte” e “problema de saúde pública” apresentaram apenas os domínios K e V, e a categoria “combater a dengue” apenas evidenciou o domínio V. Os resultados do estudo mostraram que os alunos já veem a dengue como um problema com consequências sérias e que todos têm sua responsabilidade no controle da doença. Percebe-se, portanto, que todo o trabalho que vem sendo realizado pela secretaria de saúde, pelas escolas ou campanhas publicitárias esta surtindo efeito, uma vez que no ano de 2014 houve uma redução do número de casos no município foco da pesquisa |
| English abstract | Nowadays dengue is one of the diseases with the highest incidence in Brazil, with particular frequency in the municipality of Phoenix-Paraná. The present study aims to analyse the concepts that children have about dengue, identifying the components of the KVP model as well as the social representations of this group. To this end, cartoons were used with students of the elementary school grade 5 in a school located in the city of Phoenix, whose texts were analysed to identify categories and associated components of the KVP (knowledge, values and practices). Four categories of answers about the interpretation of the charge on the dengue were identified: (i) dengue prevention of dengue, (ii) dangerous that can lead to death, (iii) public health problem and (iv) how to combat dengue. It was found that the "dengue prevention" was the category with the three domains K, V and P involved in the construction of concepts, while the other two categories "dangerous that can lead to death" and "public health problem" showed only the K and V domains, and the category "how to combat dengue" only highlighted the domain V. The results of this study showed that students already see dengue as a problem with serious consequences and that everyone has the responsibility to control the disease. We see, therefore, that all the work that is being carried out by the Ministry of health, by schools or advertising campaigns are having an effect, since in the year 2014 there has been a reduction in the number of cases in the municipality of research focus |
