| English abstract | This research aims to examine the ramifications of the policies and actions of tourism and preservation of cultural heritage involved in the production of space of the historic center of Bragança city and how the participation of agents linked to tourism and cultural heritage occurs in the social and historical process of the production of space of the historic center of Bragança. Surveys and bibliographical and documentary analysis were performed; semi-structured interviews. The State intervenes in the space with elaboration and creation of actions that aim at preservation. The local population has also contributed to the preservation of cultural heritage, through their experiences with one of the greatest exponents of Bragança’s heritage, the “Marujada” of “São Benedito”. Related to the tourism, there are many agents present in that space: the local population, the cultural movements and the State which is one of the major to induce the tourism in that place, however this has only occurred very recently |
| Portuguese abstract | Essa pesquisa tem como objetivos analisar os desdobramentos das políticas e ações de turismo e de preservação do patrimônio cultural que intervêm na produção do espaço do centro histórico da cidade de Bragança e como ocorre a participação dos agentes ligados ao turismo e ao patrimônio cultural no processo social e histórico da produção do espaço do centro histórico de Bragança. Foram realizados levantamentos e analises bibliográficas e documentais; entrevistas semi-estruturadas. O Estado é um agente que intervém no espaço com a elaboração, criação de ações que visem à preservação. A população local, também, tem contribuído de forma significativa com a preservação do patrimônio cultural em um sentido amplo, através de suas vivências com um dos maiores expoentes do patrimônio bragantino, a Marujada de São Benedito. Quanto ao turismo vários são os agentes presentes naquele espaço: a população local, os movimentos culturais e o Estado que é um dos principais a induzir o turismo naquele lugar, entretanto isso tem ocorrido apenas muito recentemente |
