| English abstract | Relations between nature, culture, society and the environment have always been the object of research in various branches of knowledge. These issues have now a "new" way that matters closely to the geography: that one pr oposed by the Environmental History, a new discipline that considers the nature an important actor in the hi story of man. We can identify in many works developed in the topics above, certain difficultie s in terms issues related to the environmental history and its relations with geography. So one of our goals here will deal with the definition, the level of research and the themes of Environmenta l History, focusing on a key issue that binds this discipline to geography: its interdisciplinarity. It will also be our goal to establish conditions for a dialogue between the Environmental History and Geography, highlighting the contribution of the Historians in a task of geography: making sense in the act of think, study and look the nature |
| Portuguese abstract | As relações entre natureza, cultura, sociedade e meio ambiente sempre foram objeto de investigação de diversos ramos do saber. Estes temas encontram agora um “novo” caminho que interessa de perto à geografia: aquele proposto pela História Ambiental, uma disciplina recente que considera a natureza um agente na história do ho mem. Temos sentido, em muitos interessados nos temas acima, certa dificuldade no que tange as questões relacionadas à história ambiental e suas relações com a geografia. Assim, um de no ssos objetivos aqui será tr atar da definição, dos níveis de pesquisa e dos temas da História Ambiental, focando uma questão fundamental que liga esta disciplina à geografia: sua interdisciplinaridade. Também será nosso objetivo deixar claras as condições de um diálogo entre a Geografia e a História Ambiental, destacando a contribuição desta com os geógrafos em uma tarefa própria da geografia: dar sentido ao ato de pensarmos, estudarmos e agirmos sobre a natureza |
