| English abstract | Research shows that urbanization affects the climate at micro and medium scales due to transformation on the surface, elevating the temperature and precipitation, and modifying the sweeps of winds and the relative air humidity. Thus, it can be noticed that the city has an individual climate. The objective of this article is to analyze the climatic rhythm of the Duque de Caxias district in Cuiabá-MT. For this, data from a climatological station installed in the district were used. The data referred to the months of January, April, July, and October, 2007. In order to contribute to the information, satellite images and synoptic charters from the National Institute of Spatial Research during the period of the analysis were used. Through the climatic rhythm it was possible to verify, in the rainy season, how the variables behaved on the performance of the Continental Tropical and Continental Equatorial Masses, as well as the Southern Atlantic Convergence Zone. In the dry season, there occurred the action of the Continental Tropical and Atlantic Polar Masses. In this sense, society and government have an important role in the preservation of the environment, maintaining green areas. It is exactly this sociability of the fields of action in the urban space which brings about the essential condition for obtaining quality for environment and human life |
| Portuguese abstract | Pesquisas mostram que a urbanização afeta o clima em escala micro e meso, devido às transformações na superfície, aumentando a temperatura e a precipitação, modificando o fluxo dos ventos e a umidade relativa do ar. Assim nota-se que a cidade possui um ritmo próprio. Assim o objetivo do artigo foi analisar o ritmo climático no bairro Duque de Caxias, em Cuiabá-MT. Para isso, foram utilizados dados de uma estação climatológica instalada no bairro Duque de Caxias, referente aos meses: janeiro, abril, julho e outubro de 2007. Para colaborar foram utilizadas imagens de satélites e cartas sinóticas do Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais durante o período em análise. Através do ritmo climático, podese verificar, na estação chuvosa, como as variáveis se comportaram sobre a atuação das Massas Tropical Continental e Equatorial Continental, além da Zona de Convergência do Atlântico Sul. Já na estação seca a atuação das Massas Tropical Continental e a Polar Atlântica. Neste sentido sociedade e governo possuem papel importante na manutenção do meio ambiente, preservando as áreas verdes. E é justamente essa convivência das esferas no espaço urbano a condição essencial para conseguirmos uma qualidade ambiental e de vida humana |
