| Spanish abstract | Europa, que ha siempre pensado en líneas globales, ha constantemente buscado comprenderse en la historia del mundo, y la historia del mundo en relación a ésta, debe hoy hacer su categoría con la ironía. La nueva Europa, puesto que su ser es potencia que domina a partir de un centro, debe saber construirse, no olvidando y a partir de su propio patrimonio político-institucional. Si hará esto Europa, ella no podrá, todavía, discutir sobre sí misma sino a partir de la experiencia de su más grande invención: el Estado-Nación, el “más grande artificio capaz de universalidad”. De frente a las más veces llamada crisis del Estado, Europa debe, entonces, proponerse en continuidad con su historia que ha sido, desde los orígenes, signada por la multiplicidad en la unidad como el ‘lugar’ en el cual la unidad de un espacio político-institucional ultra- estatal se realiza a través de la recomposición a un nuevo nivel de la unidad de metafísica y política que ha tenido en la forma estatal sus orígenes |
| English abstract | Europe, which has always thought along global lines, has constantly sought to understand itself in world history and the history of the world in relation to it, today ought to make irony its category. The new Europe, given that its being is a power that dominates from a center, ought to know how to construct itself as a viewpoint about the world, not forgetting and starting from its own politicalinstitutional heritage. If Europe would do this, she could not talk about herself without starting from the experience of her greatest invention: the Nation-State, the “greatest artifice capable of universality”. Facing what has most frequently been called a crisis of the State, Europe ought, then, to propose itself –in continuity with its history, which has been, from its origins, marked by multiplicity in unity– as the ‘place’ where the unity of a political-institutional ultra-state space happens through the re-composition of metaphysics and politics to a new level of unity that has had its origins in the state form |
