| English abstract | This text shows that Castoriadis justifies the figure of Socrates in terms of the work of politics. Politics is an activity of the collective, which questions the existing institutions of its society. The real political activity consists in the discussion that citizens have with the institutions of the society in which they live. Politics is not the exclusive business of philosophers, who are bearers of knowledge separate from their society, as proposed by Plato, nor of experts, specialists, as established by modernity. Politics, seen from the perspective of Socratic practice, is a collective action that reflects, deliberates, questions and acts in order to radically transform the instituted institutions into instituting institutions. |
| Spanish abstract | En este texto se muestra que Castoriadis reivindica la figura de Sócrates en el sentido del quehacer de la política. La política es una actividad del colectivo que interroga las instituciones existentes en su sociedad. La verdadera actividad política consiste en la discusión que hacen los ciudadanos de las instituciones desde la sociedad en las que les toca vivir. La política no es un asunto exclusivo de los filósofos portadores de conocimiento apartados de su sociedad como lo propone Platón, ni de expertos, especialistas, como lo establece la modernidad. La política vista desde la praxis socrática es un hacer del colectivo que reflexiona, delibera, cuestiona y actúa para transformar radicalmente las instituciones instituidas en instituciones instituyentes. |
