| English abstract | From the experience of a trip to South Africa in mid-January 2018, this paper thinks apartheid – a regime derived from nazism and fascism – as one of the representatives of the drive to hate. The work operates with concepts of drive, narcissism and sadism. The text seeks to answer whether regimes such as these are fruits of pathological mentalities or just projections of the evil that inhabits us, from the Freudian readings, Introduction to Narcissism, The Instincts and Their Destinies and the Civilization’s Bad Being. | Portuguese abstract | Este trabalho pensa, a partir da experiência vivencial de uma viagem empreendida à África do Sul, em meados de janeiro de 2018, o Apartheid – regime derivado do nazismo e do fascismo – como um dos representantes, em ato, da pulsão de ódio. O trabalho opera com conceitos de pulsão, narcisismo e sadismo. O texto busca responder se regimes como esses são frutos de mentalidades patológicas ou apenas projeções do mal que nos habita, a partir das leituras freudianas de Introdução ao narcisismo, Os instintos e seus destinos e O mal-estar na civilização.
