| English abstract | This paper deals with the Freudian contribution to the question of guilt, which manifests itself primarily in the sense of failure of those who succeed in the accomplishment of his desire, succumb to mental breakdown. Freud turns to literature to illustrate the loss of what, for years, with dogged perseverance, fought for her husband to become king, at the expense of the murder of his rival: Lady Macbeth, terrible and evil character of Shakespeare, and Ibsen, her character Rebecca, unscrupulous woman, to have the man who had fallen in love, induces his wife to suicide. Secondly, Freud brings us to the intriguing hypothesis of "guilt by criminals", in that it not comes from de crime committed, but precedes it |
| Portuguese abstract | O presente artigo trata da contribuição freudiana à questão da culpa, que se manifesta, em primeiro lugar, no sentimento de fracasso daqueles que, ao terem sucesso na realização de seu desejo, sucumbem ao colapso mental. Freud recorre à literatura para ilustrar a derrota daquela que, durante anos, com obstinada perseverança, lutou para que seu marido se tornasse rei, à custa do assassínio de seu rival: lady Macbeth, personagem terrível e maligna de Shakeaspeare; e, de Ibsen, sua personagem Rebecca, inescrupulosa mulher que, para ter o homem por quem havia se apaixonado, induz sua esposa ao suicídio. Em segundo lugar, Freud nos traz a instigante hipótese dos “criminosos por sentimento de culpa”, em que esta não advém do crime perpetrado, mas o antecede |
