| Spanish abstract | Desde un enfoque teórico influenciado por la obra de Gilles Deleuze, este artículo interroga el papel del afecto en la cultura política contemporánea. Mediante un análisis de la dimensión afectiva del terror, subraya las limitaciones de los procesos de “captura afectiva” que la teoría de la hegemonía considera fundamentales para el establecimiento del poder estatal. Pero en el mismo momento en que presenta el terror como un modo de organización que subvierte y cuestiona la lógica trascendental de la hegemonía, también sugiere, contra Deleuze, que el afecto no puede servir de guía hacia una política poshegemónica, ya que el mismo Estado tiende a volverse inmanente. La porosidad de la división entre trascendencia e inmanencia, entre razón y afecto, hace posible la constitución doble del Estado, tanto en las instituciones como en el afecto. | English abstract | This article examines the role of affect in contemporary political culture from a Deleuzian theoretical perspective. It employs an analysis of the affective dimensions of terror to point out the limitations of the processes of ‘affective capture’ that hegemony theory regards as essential to the establishment of state power. But while it shows that terror is a form of organisation that questions the transcendental logic of hegemony, it also notes, against Deleuze, that affect cannot in itself serve as a guide to a post-hegemonic politics, arguing that the porosity of the frontiers between transcendence and immanence, between reason and affect, means that the state itself has become immanent. The article ends by suggesting that the task of post-hegemony theory is to explore this double constitution of the state, both in institutions and in affect |
