| Spanish abstract | Se plantea desde un punto de vista pragmático el significado de la teología dentro del edificio de las ciencias, y si puede ser tolerada o si debe hacer una contribución indispensable a su integridad —lo que queremos demostrar aquí—. Después de un breve vistazo a la historia del origen de la universidad en Europa, se examinan algunos momentos decisivos en la historia de la fundación de la Universidad de Berlín, que siguen siendo importantes en los países de lengua alemana. Sobre este trasfondo se investigan las afirmaciones más dignas de atención de John Henry Newman sobre la universidad, a pesar de la dificultad de ponerlas en práctica |
| English abstract | This article analyzes, from a pragmatic perspective, the meaning of theology within the scope of sciences, that is, whether it can be tolerated or if it must make an indispensable contribution to its integrity —which is actually what we want to demonstrate. After a brief look at the history of the origin of the university in Europe, we examine some decisive moments in the history of the founding of the University of Berlin, which continue to be important in the German-speaking countries. Against this background, the most worthy statements by John Henry Newman on the university are investigated, in spite of the difficulty in putting them into practice |
