Finalmente busca analizar, mediante una revisión de diarios (La Unión de Valparaíso, El Mercurio de Santiago, El Comercio y El Magallanes de Punta Arenas) y revistas (Zig-Zag de Santiago y Sucesos de Valparaíso) el seguimiento que realizó esta prensa sobre la expedición británica, con el fin de descubrir las diversas visiones allí existentes en relación a la temática |
| English abstract | The following piece of historic research has the goal of approaching the context surrounding the Antarctic at the beginning of the 20th century, with a focus on captain Robert Falcon Scott’s expedition and his intention to reach the geographical South Pole in the framework of the race to the pole. Finally, a press coverage analysis of this British expedition is made by studying newspapers (La Unión of Valparaíso, El Mercurio of Santiago, El Comercio and El Magallanes of Punta Arenas) and magazines (Zig-Zag of Santiago and Sucesos of Valparaíso) in order to discover within them the different views in relation to the topic |
