| Spanish abstract | El presente artículo tiene el propósito de analizar a la Cofradía de la Virgen de Guadalupe, fundada por los indios del santuario del Tepeyac, en su carácter de institución corporativa, de 1678 a 1800. Esta asociación tuvo la finalidad de integrar y organizar a los indios de la jurisdicción del pueblo de Guadalupe, no sólo los congregó para la realización de los oficios litúrgicos, sino que también les dio la posibilidad de ocupar algún cargo en el gobierno civil |
| English abstract | The purpose of this article is to analyze the Brotherhood of the Virgin of Guadalupe, found-ed by the Indians of the Sanctuary of Tepeyac, in its capacity as corporate institution from 1678 to 1800. This association had the intention of integrating and organizing the Indians jurisdiction of the town of Guadalupe that not only congregated them for the liturgical celebrations, but also gave them the possibility to get a position in the civil government |
