| Spanish abstract | El presente artículo tiene por objeto desarrollar una tipología de gobiernos presidencialistas latinoamericanos tal como están determinados en los ordenamientos constitucionales vigentes en esta segunda década del siglo XXI, como asimismo determinar sus debilidades institucionales. En Chile se han planteado en el ámbito parlamentario algunas reformas constitucionales al tipo de gobierno presidencialista que se señalan como acercamientos al semipresidencialismo; nuestra hipótesis es que ellas sólo son variaciones menores del presidencialismo puro, que se encuentran lejos del tipo de gobierno semipresidencial, el que constituye una alternativa viable y posible para afianzar una democracia constitucional duradera en Chile y que posibilita superar las debilidades del presidencialismo chileno |
| English abstract | This article aims to develop a typology ofpresidential Latin American governments as they are determined in the constitutional systems in force in this second decade ofthe 21st century, how to also determine its institutional weaknesses.
