| English abstract | The present article aims to analyze the exercise of the power as domination mecha-nism, focusing the aspect of the distinguishing marking that confines some groups of people in social ghettos in which monitoring, controlling and punishment mechanisms act positively, as-suring the production, consolidation and main-tenance of the social exclusion. People as the black, the poor person, foreigner, at last, the Other, are tagged as different and, therefore, potentially dangerous, becoming imperious to the central structures of power being able to establish efficient mechanisms of monitoring and preventive punishment, in order to assu-re well-being of a society opposite to pluralism |
| Portuguese abstract | O presente artigo objetiva analisar o exercício do poder como mecanismo de domi-nação, enfocando o aspecto da marcação dife-rencial que confina determinados grupos de pessoas em guetos sociais nos quais se positi-vam mecanismos de vigilância, controle e puni-ção que asseguram a produção, consolidação e manutenção da exclusão social. Pessoas, como o negro e o pobre, o estrangeiro, enfim, o Ou-tro, são rotuladas como diferentes e, por isso, potencialmente perigosas, tornando imperio-so às estruturas centrais de poder estabelecer mecanismos eficientes de vigilância e punição preventiva, a fim de assegurar o bem-estar de uma sociedade avessa ao pluralismo |
