| Spanish abstract | En este ensayo se analiza esta novela siguiendo la teoría de Jacques Lacan, quien sostiene que la consecuencia del paso de lo imaginario a lo simbólico no es la integración del sujeto, sino su desintegración, su fragmentación. En concreto, el objetivo de este estudio es develar esa fragmentación y los síntomas asociados a ella, dejarlos expuestos, y mostrar lo vulnerable que es ese refugio que, a través del lenguaje, Occidente ha construido para el sujeto, quien ahora deberá asumir la fragilidad de su naturaleza y aceptar que no es el dueño de la verdad absoluta, que no es Hércules Poirot |
| English abstract | In this essay we analyze this novel following the theories of Jacques Lacan, who affirms that the consequence of the passing of the imaginary to the symbolic is not the integration of the subject but rather its disintegration, its fragmentation. Concretely, the objective of this study is to reveal this fragmentation and the symptoms associated with it, expose them and show just how vulnerable is this refuge that the Western Hemisphere has constructed through language for the subject who now will have to assume the fragility of its nature and accept the fact that it is not the possessor of absolute truth, that it is not Hercule Poirot |
