| Spanish abstract | Durante 1900 y 1950, el Ejército de Chile logró traspasar su quehacer profesional a diversos países de la región, tras haber emprendido un proceso de modernización que profesionalizó al personal militar de acuerdo al modelo alemán. Esta innovación, considerada por distintos factores como un requerimiento necesario, en el caso chileno tuvo grandes éxitos, lo que hizo que países como Colombia y Ecuador solicitaran directamente la colaboración de misiones militares chilenas. Es así como, por una parte, estas influyeron mediante un importante intercambio, en la formación de los respectivos oficiales, a la vez que contribuyeron a posicionar a la institución en el contexto latinoamericano, destacando la calidad y profesionalización de sus oficiales y suboficiales |
| English abstract | During 1900 and 1950, the Chilean Army had an important influence and contribution to the development of its sister military institutions in the region after going through a modernization process that professionalized the military personnel by adopting the German model. This innovation which, due of diverse facts, was regarded as a necessary requirement, had great success in the Chilean case, prompting countries like Colombia and Ecuador to directly request the assistance of Chilean military missions. This is how, on the one hand, these missions helped in the formation of their respective officers through an active exchange, while contributing to position the Institution in the Latin American context, highlighting the quality and professionalism of its commissioned and non-commissioned officers |
