| English abstract | This article describes the results that emerged from the analysis of the linguistic assessments of a group of students from the University of La Guajira belonging to the indigenous Wayuu community. The purpose of this work is to describe the perceptions and linguistic attitudes that the speakers of an ethnic community have of their language against Spanish and their different dialect variables in Colombia and other Spanish-speaking countries. The study consisted of a sample of 12 participants belonging to the Wayuu community students of the distance ethnoeducation program of the University of La Guajira Uribia headquarters, located in the upper Guajira. This sample was administered a survey that included questions that allowed to capture and measure ideas and feelings towards Spanish and the speech of the inhabitants of this community. The result shows that being a diglossic community has allowed them to project a positive attitude towards Spanish as the language they use for university, work, and commerce. In addition, there is a clear preference for the recognition of the identity value of their language. |
| Spanish abstract | El presente artículo expone los resultados que surgieron a partir del análisis de las valoraciones lingüísticas de un grupo de estudiantes de la universidad de La Guajira pertenecientes a la comunidad indígena wayuu. El propósito es describir las percepciones y actitudes lingüísticas que los hablantes de una comunidad étnica tienen de su lengua frente al español y sus diferentes variables dialectales en Colombia y demás países de habla española. El estudio consistió de una muestra de 12 participantes pertenecientes a la comunidad wayuu estudiantes del programa de Licenciatura en Etnoeducación en la modalidad a distancia de esa Universidad, sede Uribía, ubicada en la alta Guajira. A esta muestra se le administró una encuesta que incluyó preguntas que permitieran captar y medir las ideas y sentimientos hacia el español y el habla de los habitantes de esta comunidad. El resultado evidencia que ser una comunidad diglósica les ha permitido proyectar una actitud positiva hacia el español como lengua que utilizan para la universidad, el trabajo, el comercio. Además, se nota una clara preferencia por el reconocimiento del valor identitario de su lengua nativa. |
