| Spanish abstract | El diseño industrial es una actividad profesional ocupada en satisfacer necesidades por medio de objetos; es un factor que transforma y conserva la cultura a través de la materialidad. Este artículo analiza el diseño industrial y su intervención en la industria mobiliaria de Aguascalientes, en aras de identificar las problemáticas a las que se enfrenta el diseñador y cómo éstas actúan ante el diseño sustentable en la dimensión cultural y ecológica. Se muestra un análisis a través de un estudio de casos y la historia de vida de algunos objetos, lo cual permite al investigador identificar el impacto que tienen las actividades del diseñador, etapa por etapa: desde el inicio del proyecto hasta la interacción con el usuario. Cada una de las etapas del mobiliario permitió dimensionar la importancia del diseñador y su participación en la empresa así como el impacto de sus decisiones en el ciclo de vida del mueble |
| English abstract | Industrial design is a professional activity responsible of meeting needs through the means of objects; which in turn is a factor that transforms and preserves culture through materiality. This paper analyzes industrial design and its intervention on the furniture industry of the city of Aguascalientes. In order to identify the main problems faced by the designer when making a project, and how these problems interfere with sustainable design in the cultural and ecological dimension. The paper shows an analysis obtained through the case study method and the Object’s Life History which enables the researcher to identify the designer’s activities’ impact, stage by stage: from the project’s inception to its interaction with the user. Every stage of furniture allowed to measure the designer’s importance and his participation on the company, as well as the impact of their decisions on furniture’s life cycle |
