| Spanish abstract | Apelar a la memoria para reinterpretarla es una preocupación que ha dado lugar a significativas investigaciones en la reciente producción artística colombiana. El arte utiliza la historia para convertirla en una creación subjetiva en la que el artista maneja dos relatos paralelos: el que le aporta la historia y el que él construye con su obra. Diversos artistas de América l atina no miran el pasado como un mero referente de lo que ha acontecido ni con una simple actitud recordatoria. Sus investigaciones proponen unas obras donde se busca comprender el funcionamiento de la sociedad en que viven y sensibilizar al público frente a él. Evocando, rescatando y recontextualizando la forma como los hechos se van filtrando en la memoria, reconstruyen una realidad compleja que permite múltiples lecturas |
| English abstract | Art uses history in order to make it a subjective creation in which the artist manipulates two stories: the one told by history and the one he constructs with his work. Some l atin American artists do not look at the past as a mere reference of what has happened nor as a simple act of remembering. Their researches propose works whose goal is to understand the society in which they live and to sensitize their audience about it. By recalling, rescuing, and recontextualizing the way in which facts infiltrate memory, they reconstruct a complex reality that lends itself to multiple readings |
