| Spanish abstract | Este artículo propone un estudio del desarrollo del video arte y su aproximación a la performance aplicando los principios de la video-performance a las propuestas artísticas de Bill Viola. Su objetivo es examinar las etapas históricas del video arte con sus ramificaciones para demostrar como esta estética se transforma en una experiencia multisensorial, que toca el cuerpo creando una estética corpo-sensorial conceptual y física. Como metodología estudia, a través de referencias bibliográfícas, el contexto histórico y sociopolítico en que emergieron dichas transformaciones estéticas. | English abstract | This article presents an analysis of the evolution of video art and its approach to performance by applying the principles of video-performance to the works of Bill Viola. Its goal is to trace the historical references of video art, going through its ramifications to demonstrate how this aesthetic becomes multisensory artistic experience: art as experience that touches the senses of the body, becoming a "corpo-sensory" aesthetics, conceptual and physical.
