| Spanish abstract | El propósito de esta investigación es el estudio del hecho cultural de la procesión de la Divina Pastora como manifestación religiosa más importante de la región Centro Occidental de Venezuela. La perspectiva de análisis siguió el enfoque Geohistórico. Los datos primarios se recogieron mediante las técnicas de observación, participación en la procesión y entrevistas abiertas a informantes miembros de la comunidad en estudio. La información obtenida fue contrastada con datos secundarios provenientes de fuentes bibliográficas, hemerográficas y documentales. | English abstract | The purpose of this investigation is to study the cultural fact of the «Divina Pastora » procession as the most important religious manifestation in the central-occidental area of Venezuela. The perspective of the analysis followed a geohistorical point of view. The starting data was gathered using. The observation techniques, the participation in the procession and open interviews to members from the studied community. The obtained information was contrasted with secondary data supplied by bibliographical sources, newspaper, magazines and documents. It was confirmed that it is as socio-simbolical activity of great transcendence for the cultural identity of the towns of Santa Rosa and Barquisimeto |
