| Spanish abstract | La importancia del turismo al crecimiento económico es reconocida a nivel mundial, sin embargo, queda la duda, en qué medida esa riqueza está impactando sobre el bienestar de los mexicanos. En este sentido, se muestra el efecto que la desigualdad tiene sobre el bienestar de los hogares que en México y sus regiones se dedican al turismo, para ello, se apoyó en la concepción de la desigualdad derivada del bienestar como lo hacen Foster y Sen (1997), "W= µ (1-I)", y en la regionalización turística propuesta por Propín y Sánchez (2002). La desigualdad se midió por el coeficiente de Gini, se consideró el ingreso total per cápita ajustado por escala de equivalencia con base en las economías del hogar. Los resultados muestran que la población que vive del turismo en lo rural cuantifica niveles de bienestar más favorables que la población turística urbana |
| English abstract | The importance of tourism to economic growth is recognized around the world, however the question remains, as this wealth is impacting on the welfare of Mexican. In this respect we show the effect that inequality has on household welfare that in Mexico and its regions works on tourism, for this, it relied on the concept of inequality derived from welfare as do Foster and Sen (1997) "W = μ(1-I)", and the tourism regionalization proposed by Propín and Sanchez (2002). Inequality measured by the Gini coefficient, the total income per capita adjustedconsidered for equivalence scale based on household economies. The results show that the tourist population in rural quantify levels more favorable than the urban tourist population welfare |
