| English abstract | In this article we explore the incorporation of nanotechnology in the scientific and technological development in Mexico. We show that, although Mexico could be ranked in second place in this area in Latin America, the lack of a clear stimulation policy and the need of research centres for bilateral external support have created an uncertain future for a sustainable and articulated development of nanotechnology that would become the base of the next industrial revolution |
