| Spanish abstract | El acuerdo de Asociación entre Centroamérica (CA) y la Unión Europea (UE) contiene tres pilares: diálogo político, cooperación y comercio. Nicaragua presenta el menor volumen de intercambio comercial con el viejo continente. Políticamente, Europa ha sido un acompañante muy importante para asentar las bases de la paz y la democracia en la región. Las relaciones de cooperación entre la ue y Nicaragua datan desde hace más de tres décadas. En el presente trabajo se analizan los principales resultados de la negociación del Acuerdo de Asociación (AdA) entre la Unión Europea y Centroamérica. Se señalan las posibles repercusiones en materia de diálogo político, cooperación, área productiva y comercial que tendría la entrada en vigencia para economía de Nicaragua |
| English abstract | The Association Agreement between Central America (CA) and the European Union (EU) has three pillars: political dialogue, cooperation, and trade. Nicaragua has the lowest volume of trade with the European continent. Politically, Europe has been a very important companion to lay the foundations of peace and democracy in the region. Cooperative relations between the EU and Nicaragua date back more than three decades. In this paper the main results and their implications for the Nicaraguan Economy of the negotiations of the Association Agreement (AA) between the European Union and Central America are analyzed |
