| Spanish abstract | Se reporta el hallazgo de 2 ejemplares muertos de Xenopus laevis entre los restos dejados por el tsunami local del 16 de septiembre de 2015 al interior del estero humedal de Mantagua, en Chile central. Un ejemplar fue confirmado como una hembra adulta y el otro presumiblemente un macho adulto. Ambos ejemplares fueron depositados en el Museo Nacional de Historia Natural de Chile. Este hallazgo confirma la presencia de esta especie invasora al norte del río Aconcagua, lo que es coherente con la hipótesis de expansión por migración terrestre de esta especie invasora |
| English abstract | Two dead specimens of Xenopus laevis were found among the remains left by the wave of nearfield tsunami on September 16, 2015, in the Mantagua wetland estuary in central Chile. One specimen was confirmed as an adult female and the other presumably an adult male. Both specimens were deposited in the National Museum of Natural History of Chile. This finding confirms the presence of this invasive species north of Aconcagua River, supporting the hypothesis of overland expansion of this invasive species |
