| Spanish abstract | La tradicional disputa medieval de los universales es tratada aquí desde el punto de vista antiguo, específicamente desde la postura aristotélica. Se revisa su posición frente al platonismo y de allí se intenta analizar hasta donde pudo llegar su rechazo del idealismo de su maestro. De llegar a rechazarlo por completo sería un nominalista; en caso contrario habría que revisar en qué puntos continuó manteniendo la existencia de la forma sobre la materia |
| English abstract | The traditional debate on universals is treated here from the ancient point of view, specifically from the Aristotelian perspective. Aristotle's view on Platonism is reviewed here, and a attempt to analyze how strong is his rejection of his master's idealism is made. If Aristotle rejected completely Plato's idealism he will become a nominalist, otherwise we would have to investigate in which aspects Aristotle continued maintaining the existence of form over matter |
