| Spanish abstract | Los tumores glómicos son neoplasias vasculares benignas poco frecuentes, casi siempre únicas, que muestran cierto predominio en las regiones acrales. Se distinguen por provocar dolor intenso. Los pacientes pueden pasar años sin ser diagnosticados; esto se explica por el reducido tamaño, la variedad de su presentación clínica y porque generalmente no son palpables. En cuanto al tratamiento, la escisión quirúrgica es el abordaje más efectivo, ya que provee la posibilidad de confirmar el diagnóstico histopatológico y de aliviar de forma inmediata los síntomas. Se comunica el caso de un paciente de 41 años de edad con un tumor glómico en el primer ortejo del pie derecho tratado quirúrgicamente |
| English abstract | Glomus tumors are rare benign vascular neoplasms, usually solitary. They show predilection for acral regions and are characterized by severe pain. Patients can go years undiagnosed, this is explained by the small size, variety in clinical presentation and not being a palpable lesion. Surgical excision is the most effective treatment and provides the opportunity to confirm the histopathological diag- nosis, also an immediate relief of symptoms.
